Little Shop of Horrors - Hicksville, Ohio

On Friday (8:00 p.m), Saturday (8:00 p.m.), and Sunday (2:30 p.m.), Lindsay will be starring as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Isaac and I went and watched it last night. Apparently, to a three year old the plant was extremely convincing. When Audrey 2, the plant, started talking, Isaac screamed and declared, "I want to go home." I ran him to the door where he calmed down. Then I carried Isaac over to the guy who was the voice of Audrey 2 and showed him that the voice was fake. Later, we showed him the guy who was playing the plant.

Two nights ago we tried to show him the plant. He was scared of it.

Watching the play last night, I was struck with the moral of the story. When we want to achieve something, we will be able to. However, sometimes we have to compromise key principles, like Seymour did, in order to. One of the key songs is "The Meek Shall Inherit." It is funny that everyone sees Seymour as meek when he is running around feeding people to his plant in order to succeed.

Watch out for potholes and come and watch Little Shop of Horrors this weekend.
